Telangana's Real Estate Appellate Tribunal ruled that renewing a project's RERA registration does not automatically push out the possession date promised to buyers, and on that basis dismissed 31 appeals by a builder trying to avoid delay-interest payments. A promoter cannot unilaterally shift the handover date just because the registration was extended, so a lawyer checking a project's RERA status must treat the registration validity date and the contractual possession date as two separate things.
